Hi, I’m Yulia – the hands and heart behind CrochetUA.
Since childhood, I’ve always been happiest when creating with my hands. Whether it was crafting, drawing, or crocheting, I found inspiration in everything around me. Even though I earned two higher education degrees, nothing brought me the joy that making something tangible did. Creating was never just a hobby — it was a part of who I am.
Everything changed when my daughter, Olivia, was born. A friend gifted us handmade hair accessories, and I was deeply inspired. That moment sparked something in me — I knew I wanted to make beautiful, handmade pieces for children, too. When Olivia turned one, I gathered materials and launched a small business. It started slowly, but little by little, it began to grow.
Then the war came to Ukraine. We had to leave our home, our life, and my growing little shop behind.
In 2023, we arrived in Canada to begin again. I took time to explore the market and think about what I truly wanted to offer. That’s when the idea of whimsical, crochet animal backpacks for children came to life. Now, you’ll find my creations here — soft chenille yarn backpacks, ear headbands, raffia hats, crochet cushions, and more to come.
Everything is handmade with love, care, and a deep belief in the magic of creativity.
